Brian Loren Barker

Brian Loren Barker, 57, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025. He was born Dec. 26, 1967, in Monett, the son of Burl and Jerline (Bullard) Barker.
He was a 1986 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and was the owner/operator of Mt. Vernon Farm and Home Supply.
He is survived by his son, Briant Barker and his wife, Joni, of Pleasant Hill; his daughter, Brianna Wallin and her husband, Clint, of Lee’s Summit; grandson, Cooper Wallin, of Lee’s Summit; three brothers, Roger Barker and his wife, Jan, of Republic; Keith Barker and his wife, Kay, and Dean Barker, all of Mt. Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl, and Jerline; one sister, JoAnn Hood and one brother, Robert Barker.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial followed at Summit Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory, can be made payable to the Mt. Vernon FFA Chapter in care of the funeral home.
