Derelict landlord Gatley critically wounded in shooting

A Springfield realtor and landlord was shot and critically injured near Republic on Sunday, Jan. 27. Chris Gatley, owner of 417 Rentals, was shot at 5849 US Highway 60 in Brookline.
A posting on the Greene County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page identified Gatley as the victim in the shooting and stated that he remained in a local hospital with critical injuries.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office had not revealed the circumstances of the shooting or whether there is a suspect in the shooting as of press time.
Gatley is the owner of the property where he was shot. His shooting comes about a week-and-a-half after a bankruptcy case filed by 417 Rentals was dismissed. It was not immediately clear how Gatley’s shooting will affect whether 417 Rentals’ creditors will be able to begin foreclosure on the company’s properties.
