DIDREK “DEE” DIDRECKSON, JR.
Didrek “Dee” Didreckson, Jr., 86, of Billings passed away on July 4, 2025. He was born in Marshall County, S. D. on July 21, 1938; one of five children born to Didrek and Ester (Slaight) Didreckson.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and honorably served his country for four years, much of the time on foreign soil.
During his enlistment, he met Sheila Dorman, and they were married when he returned from overseas.
When the family lived in California, he was a member of the Lutheran church, where he sang in the choir. He worked as a general contractor, and when he relocated to Missouri, he built numerous homes down in the Table Rock Lake area.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila; their three children: Tina Didreckson, Terry Didreckson and Tamara (Cary) DeMint; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ethel Styron; a brother, Levern “Pete” Didreckson; as well as other extended family and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard Didreckson; and a sister, Alice Christofferson.
Per his own request, he will be cremated and laid to rest at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield at 3 p.m. on Aug. 22.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Meadors Funeral Home in Billings.
