DOYLE HOUSTON FUGETT

Doyle Houston Fugett, 73, passed away on July 19, 2025, in Bois D’Arc. Born on May 22, 1952, in Hugo, Okla., Fugett lived a life defined by hard work, creativity and an unwavering love for people.
From humble beginnings as a backhoe operator in the construction industry, his determination to provide more for his family led him to forge his own path. He founded Fugett Custom Cabinets, where he poured his craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit into building a successful business. His work was not just about wood and tools—it was about creating something lasting for those he cared about.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing frisbee golf under the open sky, casting a line while fishing with his great-grandchildren, or tinkering with anything mechanical.
A talented guitarist and singer, he recorded music with friends and filled many gatherings with melody and laughter.
Fugett leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward his legacy of warmth and resilience: his daughters Beth (and husband Sheridan) and Samantha; his son Damon (and wife Kaili); five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings Darcy Mae Breeden, Robert Nolan Fugett (and wife Maria), and Mary “Susie” Doreen Fugett, along with a wide circle of friends who became family through the years.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Grady and Dora Fugett, and brothers Wesley Tomis Fugett, who passed as a baby, and Joel Preston Fugett.
A celebration of life was held from 3-5 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2025, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home 2001 W. Walnut Lawn St.
