Edna Lillian Dean

Edna Lillian Dean, 89, of Republic passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on March 11, 2026. She was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Strafford, to Carl and Lillie (Wheatly) Sneed and was one of 11 children in the home.

She graduated from Republic High School. On Sept. 4, 1957 she married Paul Dean, and they had three children, Brenda, Debra and Alan. She worked in the garment factory in Republic when she was younger and then she worked for Litton Industries repairing circuit boards. She was a big St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed watching the games on the television. 

She is survived by her husband Paul, children Brenda McGarity, Debra Sater and Alan Dean, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother John Dean, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and nine siblings: Donald, Wanda, Evelyn, Lloyd, Phillip, Ted, Robert, Carl and Barbara.

Family will greet friends and relatives from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Republic. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lee Miller officiating. She will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery following the funeral services.
