Liberty Utilities is set to move forward with building a new location in west Republic following the rezone of approximately 4.77 acres located on the north side of Highway 174, approximately one quarter mile west of Main Street.
At the Oct. 5 Republic City Council meeting, the body voted 5-0-1, (with member Shane Groom abstaining and member Jim Deichman absent) in favor of a zone change from single family residential to general commercial of a property located at 503 North West Avenue. The change was reviewed and recommended by city staff for approval.
The power supplier intends to construct a new building for its Republic crews; the building will house Liberty Utilities construction crews, work trucks, equipment and staff. The current structures on the property will be removed for the new build.
