Fire destroys two RVs, partially damages another at RV park

A fire at Dodd’s Route 66 RV Park near Halltown completely destroyed two RVs and did some damage to another before being put out by firefighters from multiple fire protection districts on Monday, Dec. 23. No one was hurt in the blaze.
Captain Joseph House, of the Ash Grove Fire Protection District, was one of the firefighters who arrived at the scene. He said firefighters from Ash Grove, Bois D’Arc, and Mt. Vernon were on the scene; he could not “confirm or deny” that Halltown firefighters were there.
House said the fire had already completely destroyed two RVs when the firefighters answered the call for assistance.
“There (were) two RVs that were totaled, and one was starting to catch fire when we arrived,” he said, adding that he did not know how the fire started. He also said he believed no one was harmed by the fire.
A media inquiry sent to the Halltown Volunteer Fire Department received a response that the message was forwarded to the Board of Directors. A media inquiry sent to the Mt. Vernon Fire Protection District had received no response as of press time.
