What makes you a good choice for the board? My past business experience includes retirement as material administrator for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services where I led a team of buyers and support staff to complete purchasing, manage a centralized state warehouse and complete service contracts for all state prisons in Nebraska. I retired after 22-plus years. Following retirement, I was a substitute teacher for two school years at the Fort Osage School District which is located in Independence. I worked as an activities assistant at the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility for five years. I remain an active member of the AGHF Auxiliary. I am a member of the First Christian Church here in Ash Grove where I have served on their board as both chair and secretary.
I currently volunteer as the Ash Grove representative on the Greene County Municipal Partnership Committee (processes all Greene County municipal projects being paid with a portion of the $200K awarded each year). During my mayoral term, I was a member of the Greene County Mayor’s Association and served as vice chair for two years. I am the president of the Ash Grove Park Board and the current secretary of the Ash Grove Historic Town Committee.

What makes you are a good choice for the board? I feel that I am qualified because my experience as manager/ business owner, and my time spent as an alderman, I possess the knowledge and motivation one needs to make wise decisions for the good of Ash Grove. I excelled in marketing, building, creating and budgeting. I anticipate more improvements to what already exist, and I believe that Ash Grove can become a strong and prosperous place to live. I possess the insight and determination to not only visualize change but to make change, and I look forward to serving the people of Ash Grove as do I commit to do the best job for which I am able.
