Foster named CARES Act grant administrator for Greene County

The Greene County Commission announced on Wednesday, June 10, that Lyle Foster has been named as the CARES Act Relief Fund Grants Administrator. Foster started in his role on Thursday, June 11.
According to the press release, Foster will be responsible for distributing the federal funds earmarked for Greene County under the CARES Act.
“In this role Foster will be responsible for establishing the grant application processes, as well as the review and grading procedures designed to assist the commission with the allocation of the $34 million in coronavirus relief funds,” the commission stated in the press release. “He will work closely with the county’s internal finance committee and public information office, as well as any additional community oversight/advisory committees to be established, to ensure the fair distribution and accurate accounting of these important funds and the timely release of related communications.”
According to the press release, Foster has over 40 years of experience in grant writing, review and management, as well as 20 years of experience in non-profit administration.
“In addition,” the commission stated, “he holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, political science and urban studies from Macalester College, a master’s degree in sociology from Brown University, a master’s degree in religion from Yale University and doctorate of educational leadership from the University of Missouri, Columbia.”
Foster said he looks forward to the challenges of his new position.
