Imogene Blades

Imogene Blades, 98, of Billings, passed away peacefully from this life on Sunday morning, Aug. 4, 2019, surrounded by her children. She was born July 20, 1921, in Mt. Vernon, to Clarence and Lizzie Rodgers.
Blades was united in marriage to Wayne L. Blades on Jan. 4, 1942. They celebrated 69 years of marriage before Wayne passed away on Aug. 1, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Opal Brashers, Dorothy Hubbard, Hazel Wever and two brothers, William and Floyd Rodgers. She is survived by her children, Sharon and husband, Lloyd “Lefty” Evans, of Kimberling City, Larry Blades of Springfield, Tony and his wife Gail Blades of Springfield. She had three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great- great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, extended family and many friends.
A visitation for Blades was Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, from 10-11 a.m., with as service at 11 a.m., at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. In lieu of flowers, the fam- ily requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church in Republic, Hospice Compassus, or The Al- zheimer’s Association.
