MARY NEILL

Mary Neill, 98, formerly of Brookline passed away on March 13, 2025. She was born in St. Clair on May 14, 1926; the daughter of Henry and Hazel (Shults) Davis. When she was three days old, her mother passed away from complications with the delivery. Soon after, she was welcomed into Sam and Mattie (Davis) Hocks’ lives and was adopted by them when she was young.
She graduated from Republic High School with the class of 1944.
On May 27, 1945, she married John Neill.
She is survived by her son, James R. (Lynn) Neill of Augusta and Barbara (Jim) Hunt of Branson; seven grandchildren and their families and her daughter-in-law, Ardyth Neill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy who passed in 1995; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tom Smith who both passed in 2024; and her sons, Joseph Neill who passed away in 1999 and Jerry R. Neill who passed in 2024.
Graveside services were held on Monday, March 17, in Brookline Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Meadors Funeral Home in Republic.
