A man is currently being held at the Greene County Jail after allegedly attacking an Ash Grove resident. According to the probable cause statement in the case, Kristopher Raymond Booth, 23, of Warrenton, Ore., entered the yard of the resident on Wednesday, June 10, accompanied by an unidentified juvenile, looking for the relative of one of the individuals in the yard. The witness reported that the juvenile threatened to “’blow’ her relative’s brains out.”
The victim and the witness reported they ordered Booth and the juvenile to leave their property, but Booth approached the victim and allegedly struck him in the head with a skateboard, while the juvenile allegedly struck him (the victim) in the head repeatedly with a metal pipe. The victim reported that he picked up a similar pipe and struck back at Booth and the juvenile, hitting them, and they left. According to the probable cause statement, the victim suffered impact trauma to his head and a broken jaw.
A member of the Ash Grove Police Department who responded to the call encountered Booth and the juvenile at the intersection of Turk and Grant. He said they were running into a yard near the intersection when he pulled up and requested that they stop.
Booth and the juvenile identified themselves; the officer reported that they both said they “weren’t part of it” and were trying to break up a fight.
Both had visible blood on their faces, and Booth was holding a skateboard.
Booth is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. According to the criminal complaint in the case, if he is convicted for the assault charge, he will have to serve at least 85-percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
According to online records, Booth is being held in lieu of a $25,000 open-court-only bond. If he is released on bond, he will be required to wear a GPS device. He is next scheduled to appear in court on a bond hearing on Thursday, June 18. No information was available on the juvenile suspect.
