Patrick Ray Myers

Patrick “Pat” Ray Myers, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Aug. 15, 2025, at Mercy Hospital surrounded by loving family members.
Born on Nov. 3, 1945 to Roy Bryan Myers and Norma Lee Fuller Myers, in Fresno, Calif., Myers leaves behind his family, mostly in Greene and Lawrence counties. His wife, Patricia “Patti” Stoner Myers, sisters-in-law Brenda Carter Myers, Linda Stoner (Shawnee, Kan.), Judy Gann and one brother-in-law, Bob Stoner (Jean); many nieces and nephews; and many grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Beattie Alan; brothers Bill Myers and Ronnie Dale Myers; sister-in-law Anita Davis; niece Joy Kay Brown.
He lived a life filled with love, fun, hard work and country values. Those who knew him will remember him for his hearty laughter and bear hugs, which were offered often. Based on his vast life experiences, he provided wise counsel to many who were struggling at times.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23. A visitation at 1 p.m. will be followed by a service at 2 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield. Family and friends are welcome to gather, share stories, and honor the beautiful life he lived. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Projects.
