Sentences to be served concurrently; includes multiple 17-year bids
Repeat offender Tyler Golden will have quite some time to think about his actions. The former Ash Grove resident was sentenced on Friday, Dec. 18 for myriad sex crimes involving minor-aged children, as well as two counts of domestic assault. Per online records, he pleaded guilty to the crimes on Oct. 21.
Long list of offenses
According to a plea agreement dated Oct. 21, Golden pleaded guilty to: first-degree statutory sodomy, for a sentence of 17 years in prison; first-degree child molestation, for a sentence of 17 years; two counts of sexual misconduct involving a child, for a sentence of seven years for each count; two counts of second-degree child molestation, for a sentence of 15 years for each count; second-degree sexual misconduct, for a sentence of 15 days, and two counts of third-degree domestic assault, for a sentence of four years for each count. Per the plea agreement, two other counts of domestic assault were dismissed, and Golden will serve his sentences concurrently, meaning he will serve each sentence simultaneously while in prison.
Golden’s sex crimes were committed against three underage girls. The Greene County Commonwealth reported in January of this year that the girls were interviewed about the abuse in December of 2019.
The first girl interviewed was under 18 at the time of the alleged abuse. She stated Golden began speaking to her about “sexual stuff” and asked her questions in December of 2018; she said he also “grabbed her buttocks.” She reported that Golden would come into her bedroom at night, watch her sleep, make statements which were “sexual in nature” and “stroke her thigh.”
The girl also reported that in 2019, Golden came into her room and asked her “if she wanted to do something.” She said she told him “No,” and that she knew that he was implying “sexual stuff.”
The second girl interviewed reported Golden began abusing her when she was under 14.
She said it began in March or April of 2017 with Golden telling her she was “attractive.” She said this went on for a couple of nights.
She also reported that Golden, on another occasion, inappropriately touched her outside of her clothing and that he masturbated in front of her three times.
The final girl interviewed reported Golden abused her beginning when she was under the age of 12. She reported he touched her over her clothing while they were sitting on a couch watching television. She also reported that Golden asked her to touch him sexually three different times, and that he exposed himself to her.
May 2019 incident
The domestic assault charges stemmed from an incident in May of 2019. According to the probable cause statement in that case, Golden came home one night and became upset over there not being any dinner for him. Rather than argue, the victim walked away and tried to take a shower. Golden followed her into the bathroom, began yelling and throwing things around, and at one point, slammed the door shut, striking the victim in the face.
The victim attempted to get away from the situation, but Golden thew her cellphone at her, striking her in the right thigh and causing bruising while also breaking the cellphone. Golden, while yelling, also head-butted the woman while she sat on the couch and poured a glass of water on her. The woman attempted to leave the situation, but Golden grabbed her by her right arm and pushed her back on the couch, telling her to “sit down and take it.” As Golden continued to yell, the woman attempted to get off the couch again; this time Golden pushed her into the coffee table, which broke.
The woman got back onto the couch while Golden continued to yell at her, and then attempted to go to the kitchen. As she got up, Golden took the empty water glass and struck her on the left side of her face, causing her bottom lip to swell and bleed. She also fell into the dining room table and chairs, causing bruising to the right side of her rib cage.
Golden saw the woman bleeding and stopped yelling and hitting her. As the woman went to the bathroom to wash the blood from her face, Golden said to her, “Look at me; I did not mean to hit you that hard. It just felt so good the first time I made contact, I had to do it again. I wanted to hurt you so bad. I wanted you to hurt.”
Afterwards, the woman cleaned herself up and went to bed.
Golden was booked into the Greene County Jail on Jan. 20 of this year. As of press time, he remained in the Greene County Jail, pending his transfer to the Missouri Department of Corrections.
