Republic begins welcome sign

The new Republic City gateway sign is under construction and expected to be completed by the end of July. The sign is being installed on westbound U.S. Highway 60, just past the Farm Road 103 intersection, as part of Republic’s celebration of their 150th year as a city. When it’s finished, the sign will be 27-feet tall and 32-feet wide, and will include an arch in which a bronze tiger will be placed. The sign is being paid for by the city’s 2017 Capital Improvements Sales Tax.
