After pleading guilty to 3 felonies, post release Lawson violates GPS requirements awaiting sentencing

A Republic man who pleaded guilty to three felonies and was then released on his own recognizance was again released on his own recognizance after being taken into custody for allegedly violating the GPS requirements of his release while awaiting sentencing.
Jesse D. Lawson, 32, was booked into the Greene County Jail on Saturday, Aug. 1 and, according to online records, released again on Thursday, Aug. 6.
According to the probable cause statement in the case, Republic Police received a dispatch of an armed robbery at the Casey’s on N. Main Street in Republic on March 25. The suspect, later identified as Lawson, was described as a white male wearing a gray hoodie and jeans, with face tattoos. A witness later told police as they arrived that Lawson had taken off his gray hoodie and was wearing a black T-shirt. The police stopped Lawson and found a BB pistol and $469 in small bill denominations on him.
The investigating officer interviewed the store clerk, who said a man came to the counter, displayed what she believed to be a handgun and told her to “give me all the money.” She gave him the money in the cash register and he left the store. The clerk described the man as 5’5” with face tattoos, reddish brown hair and wearing a ball cap and a grey sweatshirt.
The investigating officer reported that a review of the store’s security footage showed Lawson entering the store at about 7:45 p.m. on the evening of the robbery and approaching the counter and pulling out his gun. The officer stated the gun was kept in a low-ready position while Lawson pointed with his other hand; the clerk was seen removing the money from the cash register and placing it on the counter, which Lawson then took and left the store.
Lawson was taken to the Greene County Jail and read his Miranda rights. Afterwards, he said he was at Casey’s earlier that day asking people for money to help pay for his uncle’s medications. After a while, he said, he went home, grabbed his BB gun and came back to Casey’s to rob them.
On July 24, Lawson pleaded guilty to Stealing, Making a Terroristic Threat and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was released on his own recognizance.
