Republic City Council passes full slate of growth ordinances, resolutions

With a full slate of actionable items staring them in the face, the Republic City Council wasted no time in passing every ordinance and resolution put in front of them at their Sept. 15 meeting.
The council, with a unanimous vote of 8-0:
- Authorized the city to enter an agreement with Convoy of Hope for water line public improvements.
- Adopted the multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation 5-year plan as presented by Deputy Fire Chief Lynn Hollandworth.
- Approved a preliminary plat for Greenfield Estates, a residential subdivision consisting of approximately 23.48 acres (82 lots) in the 7500 block of West Farm Road 174.
- Awarded financial advisor services to Piper Sandler for a 4-year term to help the city with, among other things, bond issues and economic development possibilities, as the need arises.
- Authorized a change order of $5,325 more for the parking lot and driveway paving of the new Republic Animal Control Center.
- Authorized a change order of $6,125 more for the outside kennel runs at the animal control center.
- Awarded the design, engineering and architectural services relating to the development of a new community development/public works building to H-Design, for approximately $443,000 (10 percent of the overall $4 million cost of the building).
- Awarded a bid of $147,000 to Journagen Construction for curbing the Drury Lane Extension.
- Authorized an $80,169 purchase of waterline materials for the Convoy of Hope project.
- Authorized the disposal of two American General Humvees, which according to Police Chief Brian Sells, are not currently operational.
Passing 7-0, prior to the arrival of board member Brandon Self, was an ordinance authorizing the execution of a first supplemental STP-Urban Program Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for the design and right of way acquisition for the extension of Shuyler Creek Trail.
