Republic’s public information officer Allyssa Dudley is no longer with the city. Dudley held the PIO position for the City of Republic from September 2021 until March 23 of this year, when she resigned. Her resignation came four days after a posting on the city’s Facebook page erroneously stated that Council Member Gerry Pool had died. Pool was and is, in fact, very much still alive.
Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jennafer Mayfield, who took over as Republic’s interim public information officer, declined to comment on whether Dudley’s resignation was connected to the Facebook post. She provided this statement instead: “Ms. Dudley resigned her position as Public Information Officer with the City of Republic on March 23, 2022. The city is thankful for her service during her tenure. The city continues to evaluate its staffing needs and will be adding positions accordingly.”
Dudley herself only said she was grateful for her opportunity as Republic’s PIO.
“I was thankful for my time at the city,” she said. “Working there was very interesting, and they've got some great people and … a great goal for the community. I definitely enjoyed my time there.”

Dudley’s future
After she stepped down, Dudley said she decided to focus her efforts on developing Woodson Marketing, a full-service marketing agency.
