Road closures in Republic for the ROAR Run Saturday, May 4

The Republic School District will be conducting the ROAR Run 5k on Saturday, May 4, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The race begins and ends at the football field located at the Republic Middle School (688 E. Hines) and features an ‘out-and-back style’ route to ensure the safety of all race participants. The event will necessitate restricting traffic on several downtown streets. The ROAR Run 5K Route will be closed to through traffic from 8:30 a.m. until approximately noon on May 4:
- 200 thru 600 blocks of East Harrison Street
- 100 block of North Maple A venue
- 100 and 200 blocks of East Elm Street
- South Main Street between the Railroad and Highway 60
- West Broad Street between Main and West Avenue
- 100 and 200 blocks of East Brooks Street
- 200 block of South Maple A venue
- 100 and 200 blocks of East Mill Street
Local traffic inside the closure area may pass the barricades; however, through traffic should utilize alternate routes. Traffic restrictions will be implemented and removed as the race progresses along the course. Detour routes will not be marked for this event, but event staff and the Republic Police Department will be directing traffic at the key intersections on the route.
