Roudybush arrested again, this time for assault in Ash Grove
Probation violation may add to suspect’s problems
An Ash Grove man is in custody at the Greene County Jail on charges he attacked two people in their home. Shane Roudybush, 36, was booked into the Greene County Jail on Tuesday, March 30.
Roudybush faces two counts of fourth-degree assault; one charge is listed as assault on a special victim. According to the probable cause statement, Roudybush was in the home of the two victims on July 20, 2020. An argument ensued, and Roudybush was told to leave. One of the victims said Roudybush started a “struggle” with his girlfriend, who was the other victim. When he tried to stop Roudybush, the victim said Roudybush hit him in the head with a broom handle.
The probable cause statement noted that one victim had a circular red mark on the chest, and the other had a swollen red area behind the right ear. Because one of the victims is a paraplegic and uses a wheelchair for mobility, that person is considered a special victim.
Probation possibly revoked
Roudybush also faces seeing his probation in an earlier case revoked. In June of last year, the Commonwealth reported that Roudybush, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest. In that case, Roudybush attempted to evade an Ash Grove police officer who came to his residence to speak with him following an incident at Pennington’s Supermarket. The officer asked Roudybush for his identification. Roudybush, claiming not to have his ID, gave his information verbally to the officer. When the officer asked if Roudybush had any warrants for his arrest, he said, “No,” and then said he had to check on a fire he left burning behind his trailer. As Roudybush went towards the back of the trailer, the officer followed him. Roudybush then started running, jumped a fence and ran into a wooded area before later being apprehended.
Part of Roudybush’s sentence in that case was to complete 20 hours of community service by Nov. 21, 2020. According to online records, Roudybush failed to complete his community service by the appointed deadline, and was ordered to appear in court on Jan. 5 for a probation revocation hearing. He was also ordered to appear in court also for the assault charges on Jan. 13, but failed to appear for either court hearing.
As of press time, Roudybush remained in the Greene County Jail, and was scheduled to appear in court for all charges on Tuesday, April 6.
