Route M, Repmo Drive closing until August for roundabout

Greene County Route M between Greene County Route ZZ and a point east of Farm Road 103 near Republic High School will close to all traffic starting Wednesday, May 29, until early August as work progresses on a new roundabout, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Route M will be closed after 9 a.m., following morning rush hour, on Wednesday, May 29.
At the same time, Greene County Farm Road 103 and the north entrance to Republic High School will close as well.
During the closing, Route M drivers will use a signed detour using Route 60 and Route 160/FF. Local traffic and emergency responders will still be able to access the south end of Farm Road 103 when needed.
The roadway closings are needed as work progresses on building a roundabout at the north entrance to Republic High School.
When the roadways reopen in early August, the intersection will be in the roundabout configuration.
Rain and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
The project is a partnership between MoDOT, the City of Republic and the Republic School District.
The project is scheduled for completion by Aug. 9, prior to the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
The prime contractor on the project is APAC-Central of Fayetteville, Ark.
The estimated total project cost is $2.3 million dollars, which is being shared by MoDOT, the city, and the school district.
