Steam-O-Rama returns

Three-year-old Hadley Greninger, with the help of her father Mason Greninger, both of Goodman, commandeers a restored 1938 John Deere A, owned by Jared and Hannah Lipe, to the stands Saturday during the 59th annual Steam- O-Rama in Republic.

As John Deere was this year’s featured brand, a row of early John Deere tractors line up for presentation to the crowd. Visit greenecountycommonwealth.com for a full gallery of photos.

In its 59th year, Republic’s Steam-ORama event drew quite a crowd over the weekend thanks to hundreds of tractors, implements, steam engines and reasonable weather. Some 7,500 people are estimated to have attended the four-day affair hosted by the Ozarks Steam Engine Association, which ran from Thursday, Sept. 16, to Sunday, Sept. 19. Included in the show was a tractor pull—which drew an estimated 100 pullers, and a flea market which exceeded 100 vendor booths. This year’s spotlighted brand was John Deere. (Photos by Ryan Squibb)
