Thomas “Tom” Dee Smart

Thomas “Tom” Dee Smart, 75, of Branson West passed away on May 27, 2026. He was born June 26, 1950, in Springfield, to Dale and Othel (Roberts) Smart. He graduated from Glendale High School in Springfield in 1968 and joined the Army just after turning 18 years old. He served on active duty in both the Army and the Marines from 1968 to 1977. 

He was a devoted husband to his wife of 56 years, Mimi (Butler), and a proud father to his four children: Rebekkah, John, Mimi and Amanda. He is survived by his wife, Mimi; his four children, Rebekkah (Steve) Hollabaugh of McKinney, Texas, John (Lori) Smart of Willard, Mimi Oliphant (Nick Milnes) of Branson, and Amanda (Rick) George of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Connie Pace of Nixa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ronald; his sister, Sally; and his brother-in-law, Mike Pace. 

A celebration of life was held on June 6, 2026, at the Kimberling Area Senior Center in Kimberling City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kimberling City VFW. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield.
