Tickets available for WCNB Moonlight Tour

Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield Superintendent T. John Hillmer Jr. announced today that tickets for the battlefield’s popular “Moonlight Tour” are available. The tour will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, from 6:45-9 p.m. Tours last about 90 minutes.

Tickets are free, but you must have a ticket to hold a seat on the bus for your specific tour time. This year’s tour will be located at the John Ray House and will incorporate four scenes associated with the Civil War.

“The Moonlight Tour continues to be one of our most popular interpretive events of the year. Come out and get your free tickets,” says Supt Hillmer. “In addition, if you’ve never been to see a night time cannon shooting, you definitely need to see one!”

Tickets may be obtained in person at the battlefield visitor center, first come, first served until gone. The tour road will be closed to the public beginning at 4 p.m. on Nov. 10, in order to prepare for the tour. All visitors will be transported via buses from the visitor center to and from the tour site.

In addition, those taking the tour should be prepared to walk a total of one-half mile and dress appropriately.  Due to the terrain, strollers will not be allowed. Also, no flash photography is allowed.
