Woman run over, tragically killed by semi at Hood’s

Wendy R. Matheny, 45, of Whitney, Texas, was killed the morning of Thursday, Dec. 10, when she walked around the front of a 2007 Peterbilt semi as it was leaving a parked position at the Hood’s Truck Stop parking lot. The big rig was driven by Shannon C. Culbertson, 40, of Willard. Matheny was pronounced deceased at the scene. As is state law, Culbertson was tested for alcohol.
