Friday night Be the Light in Ash Grove

Taking part in the national Be the Light campaign, Ash Grove High School officials turned on the lights of all the ball fields Friday night in honor of the graduating seniors whose senior year was cut short. The lights ran for 20 minutes, from 8:20 p.m. to 8:40 p.m., in recognition of the class of 2020. The lights were just the beginning of the festivities, however, as students and community members drove through campus with their horns blazing. Approximately 200 vehicles participated in the event including several rigs from the Ash Grove and Bois D’Arc fire departments, who also employed their full array of lights available. Above, Ash Grove seniors line up in their vehicles to watch as the noisy crowd rolls by.
“Hopefully this small event gives these seniors and others a little enjoyment and fun during the pandemic,” said Ash Grove High School Principal Chris Thompson.
