Former Beefcakes owner Myers facing new fraud charges involving two-month muscle car scam

When George Myers pleaded guilty to a charge of mail fraud in August of 2020, he was allowed to remain free on bond pending sentencing. However, after being accused of engaging in new acts of fraud and allegedly engaging in “unlawful transport of firearms,” Myers is no longer a free man. The former Beefcakes, Republic, owner was booked into the Greene County Jail, on behalf of the United States Marshal Service on Friday, Feb. 26.
New cases of alleged fraud
According to a motion to revoke Myers’ release, Myers allegedly engaged in two new acts of fraud. In the first case, the motion cites a lawsuit filed against Myers by Mark Farnham, who stated that between Sept. 1, 2020 and Oct. 31, 2020, he paid Myers $685,000 for “various vehicles, vehicle parts, and vehicle restoration services.” Farnham said that Myers never produced the vehicles or vehicle parts, and also refused to return the money that was paid. In his suit, Farnham also named Myers’ wife, Tiffany Myers, and Fuel Collision and Restoration, a business located at Myers’ address as defendants.
Second case
In the second case, the motion states the victim reported that she paid Myers $7,300 between April of 2020 and June of 2020 for the repair and delivery of a truck, but as late as Nov. 3, 2020 she had not received it. The victim provided law enforcement with Facebook messages between herself and Myers; according to the motion, Myers provided the victim with several “excuses for not completing work on the truck.” The motion also cited an acquaintance of Myers, who told law enforcement that Myers was not working or restoring the victim’s vehicle.
Alleged unlawful transport of firearms
Myers is also accused of “unlawful transport of firearms” as he allegedly possessed illegally a firearm that was made outside of the State.

According to a motion for pretrial detention in that case, a witness stated he bought a yellow Camaro from Myers for $22,000 and two firearms, a Glock .380 and a Stoeger 12-gauge shotgun. A witness told law enforcement that Myers told him he sold the Camaro in May of 2020, and had received the firearms as partial payment. The witness said he’d observed the Glock on two occasions and asked about purchasing it from Myers for his wife. He said Myers declined, but gave him the shotgun instead. The witness added he later gave the shotgun to his wife as a gift.
In the motion, it was reported that FBI agents obtained the shotgun from the witness’s wife and determined it was the same one Myers received as partial payment for the Camaro. An ATF agent examined the shotgun and determined that it was made outside of Missouri, making it “transported in interstate commerce” before Myers possessed it. The indictment in the case stated it was illegal for Myers to possess the shotgun because of his previous felony convictions (including a count of felony forgery in Jasper County from 1998 and two counts of failure to pay state income taxes in 2016). According to Missouri law, it is a felony for a convicted felon to own a firearm. If the firearm crosses state lines, a felon in possession of it can be prosecuted in federal court.
Motion for pretrial detention
The motion to detain Myers also argued that he was a flight risk because “he is now facing a considerable amount of prison time due to the offense charged, the sentence he faces for his federal mail fraud case, and his criminal history. Further, the defendant has a habit of disobeying court orders by continuing criminal acts while on probation for other criminal convictions.”
Original fraud case
Myers pleaded guilty on Aug. 13, 2020 to defrauding two manufacturing companies out of over $640,000. He remained free on an appearance bond pending sentencing in the case, until he was taken into custody.
Regarding the unlawful transport of firearms charge, Myers is scheduled to appear in federal court for a pretrial conference on Tuesday, April 6; an accelerated jury trial is scheduled for Monday, May 3. It was not immediately clear when he would appear in court on the fraud charges.

 Missing Muscle Cars
Over the span of two months, felon George Myers allegedly fleeced investor Mark Farnham of $685,000, who believed Myers was using the money to purchase a who’s who list of high-end classic and muscle cars. The specific models are listed below:
• $42,000 for work on a Dodge D100 Truck, a 1974 white Firebird Formula, a 1975 black Firebird Formula and a 1976 blue Firebird Formula. According to the paperwork in the lawsuit, the work was never completed.
• $4,700 to rebuild a Dodge D100 426 Wedge Hemi engine. According to the suit, Farnham has never received the engine.
• $73,000 for the purchase of a 1970 SS396 Chevelle and a 1959 silver Corvette, which were never delivered.
• $100,000 for the purchase of a 1970 blue GTX with a 440, automatic transmission and numbers matching; 1970 orange 383 Roadrunner; 1967 400/4-speed GTO with air conditioning; 1967 white 400/3-speed GTO with black vinyl top; all original Pontiac Lemans and two other GTOs, which were never delivered.
• $125,000 to purchase a 1969 S-Code 390 Mustang and a 1967 KCode 289 Mustang, which were never delivered.
• $60,000 to purchase a 1959 silver and blue Corvette, which was never delivered.
• $36,000 for a wrecked gold/black AC Shelby Cobra Replica. Farnham was told by Myers he would also be receiving 429 Ford engine, a second V-8 engine, automatic transmission and a replacement body. Farnham received the vehicle, but has not received the two motors, transmission or replacement body.
• $180,000 for a 1969 Yenko, Camaro Replica, a 1970 black SS Chevelle with white stripes and a 1968 pearl Charger. Farnham never received any of the vehicles.
• $185,000 for a 1953 gold Chevrolet pickup, a 1958 aqua Chevrolet pickup and two big block Chevelles. Farnham received the two pickups, valued at a total of $55,000, but never received the two Chevelles valued at a total of $130,000, according to the suit.
