True Value expansion means more room to shop

The True Value hardware store in Ash Grove has recently gotten bigger. The owners of the store expanded their building to add 1,500 square feet to their showroom, as well as more storage space.
Doug Renshaw, co-owner of True Value, said an increase in inventory made the expansion necessary.
“We’ve just always needed room,” he said. “You know, the market comes up with new products, and we need to offer them to our customers to remain competitive.”
Among the departments that have been expanded, Renshaw said, are Paint, Lawn and Garden and Outdoor Living.
“(The) Stihl department has (also) expanded, added another 12 feet because they’re getting heavy into
the battery powered equipment,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of that we need to get out and get displayed.”
Renshaw said the store’s customers are pleased with the expansion.
“Everybody loves it,” he said. “Some of them with some shock and surprise when they realize the wall is down and they can go in and another 55-plus feet and see new inventory.”
True Value is located at 307 N. Perryman Avenue in Ash Grove. For more information, call (417) 751- 2911.
