Republic gets new council digs

After years of being in cramped city hall, and months of meetings at the Republic Community Center, the Republic City Council has new chambers, shown above. A revamped area in the Republic Police Department is now the new council home after an extensive remodel and upgrade. The space will seat more than 40 people, outside of the council themselves, and offers top-of-the-line technology for communications during the meeting. The council enjoyed the new environs for the first time during the June 1 meeting. (Photo by Ryan Squibb)
