In cooperation with Jordan Valley Community Health Center, the Ash Grove Area Community Foundation hosted a COVID-19 vaccination event in the parking lot of Pennington’s Supermarket, Saturday morning.
In total, 36 recipients received the small injection which will greatly lessen their chances of contracting COVID- 19.
Organizer Tyler Gunlock, AGCF president, was pleased with the turnout.
“We’re extremely thankful for the collaboration from the city and Pennington’s Supermarket in promoting the event and we’re happy with the turnout,” Gunlock said. “We are hopeful that more and more folks will continue to protect themselves and their community by getting a shot.
A friend told me that there were more folks who got a shot here than at the Garth Brooks concert, so we should be proud of our effort. I had hoped for more, especially in the 12-17 age range to get their shots before school starts, but I’m grateful that Jordan Valley Health was able to come out and provide the service to our community and that so many folks were able to take advantage of it.”
