Candidates set for Ash Grove ballot

As last week’s candidate filing deadline passed, the ballot for Ash Grove’s April 5 election became clear.
Ash Grove mayor, board of aldermen
For the city of Ash Grove, candidates filing for the mayor’s seat were Caleb Smith and incumbent Les Gardner. For the Ash Grove Board of Aldermen Ward 1, candidates are Tysha Thornton and incumbent Jerry Kane.
For Ward 2, longtime alderman Troy Watts is running unopposed.
Ash Grove Board of Education
With two positions on the Ash Grove Board of Education coming open, and two candidates filing for those seats, there will be no school election in April due to lack of opposition. The two candidates who filed are incumbents Mike Gray and Jeana Scroggins.
