FRANCINE BATSON

Francine Batson, 68, of Republic passed away on May 21, 2025. She was born in Riverside, Calif. on Dec. 22, 1956; the daughter of Alvus (Jack) and Leora (June) (Leach) Hagood and was one of three children in the home.
The family relocated to Miller when she was 12 years old and she graduated from Miller high school with the class of 1975.
On Oct. 14, 1977, she married David Batson. She worked at IWX Trucking for many years, as both a long-haul team driver along with her husband David and also in their accounting department. She was also a talented painter and piano player. She played in several churches in the area, especially at her church, Blades Chapel.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, David; daughter, Jessica Batson; mother, Leora Hagood; mother-in-law, Ann Batson; brother, Jim (Lisa) Hagood; Linda Ruark, who was not only her piano instructor, but has become a lifelong friend; and two fur babies, Trouble and Muffin.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Batson; father, Alvus Hagood; brother, Marvin Hagood and sister-in-law, Renae Hagood.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 27, at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Burial was in Misemer Cemetery in Miller.
