Gladys Ida Grimes

Gladys Ida Grimes, 85, of Springfield, passed away Aug. 12, 2025, surrounded by her children. She was born on Feb. 26, 1940, in Pecatonica, Ill. to Walter and Lydia (Bruns) Wiegert. On Sept. 4, 1964, Gladys and David Theordore Grimes were united in marriage and shared over 44 years together, before David’s passing in 2009.
Grimes is survived by her children, Barbie Reed, Debbie Lambeth, David Grimes Jr., Gregory Grimes; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Grimes is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Grimes; siblings, Kenneth Wiegert and Arlene Wiegert.
Rosary will be Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, with visitation  to follow until 7 p.m. Grave side services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at Smith Chapel, Brixey.
