Mary Lea Hicks

Mary Lea Hicks, 93, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2025. She was born on May 15, 1932, in Bois D’Arc, to Karl and Louise (Baldwin) Squibb. On Jan. 31, 1954, she and Noyd Hicks were united in marriage and shared over 51 years together, before Noyd’s passing.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and a devoted member of Bois D’Arc United Methodist Church. Her faith was central to her life, and she faithfully served her church in many ways, including teaching Sunday School and sharing her musical talents as a pianist and organist for more than 40 years. She retired from Mid-America Dairy, where she was a dedicated and valued employee.
She is survived by her son, Kent Hicks and wife Paola; granddaughter, Annabelle Rose Hicks; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noyd Hicks; daughter, Deanna Lee Small; siblings, Erma Owens and Warren Squibb.
Visitation was 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 22, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Her final resting place will be White Chapel Memorial Garden, Springfield.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Bois D’Arc United Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home.
