Rendezvous fall festival to feature new music acts, long-time favorite attractions
The Ash Grove Rendezvous fall festival returns to Ash Grove on Saturday, Oct. 20. This year, the festival will be moved from Main Street to Ash Grove City Park, and will run from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Stuart Coutchie, president of the Ash Grove Historic Town Committee, explained the reason for the change.
“We did (a new location) because we wanted to put a tent up and do a nighttime thing,” he said, “and unfortunately, Main Street is not a great place to put a tent up, so that’s why we moved to the park.”
Coutchie also described the festival has having “something for everybody.” The attractions at Rendezvous will include wiener dog races, a pie-baking contest, tours of the Phenix Quarry, glamour camping, and a hatchet throwing demonstration.
Other attractions include craft and food vendors, a display of Ash Grove artifacts provided by Missouri State University, an antique tractor and engine display, games for kids, and a wine and beer garden for adults.
Two bands will also perform at Rendezvous. The first one is the bluegrass band High Strung, and they will perform from 1 to 3 p.m. The other is N2 Deep, a classic rock band. They perform from 5 to 9 p.m.
Rain or shine, Coutchie said Rendezvous will proceed. For more information, go online to www.ashgrovehtc.org or call (417)751-2034.
