The Ash Grove FFA Chapter placed second in the agricultural mechanics career development event at the 91st Missouri FFA Convention. There were 45 teams in the competition.
The Republic School District held their sixth annual ROAR Run on Saturday, May 4. About 600 people braved cooler than normal temperatures to take part in the event. The ROAR Run consisted of two competitive races: A one-mile fun run and a 5K.
Two EF-1 tornadoes touched down near Willard within six minutes of each other on Tuesday, April 30. No deaths or injuries were reported from the twisters.

Ron Mark, the head of H & R Block in Republic, was named the Greene County Republic Party Volunteer of the Year during the Lincoln Day celebration at the Oasis in Springfield, where he was presented with a plaque in honor of his efforts.

Last Saturday, the city of Republic hosted a citywide cleanup, which was met with great results. In total, the city collected 250 tons of trash, which equates to 45 full trash trucks. According to Republic Services, this was a record haul.
