Ash Grove students will soon taste the flavor of locally grown beef thanks to the MO Beef for MO Kids program. Announced at the Nov. 26 Ash Grove Board of Education meeting, the MO Beef for MO Kids program is on its way to the R-4 district.
The Republic Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting the 10th Annual Reindeer Run 5K on Friday, Dec. 7, beginning at 7 p.m. The race begins and ends at J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines) and features an ‘out-and-back style’ route to ensure the safety of all race participants.
The Ash Grove Board of Aldermen received good news from Rachael Day, of Decker and Degood P.C. at the Nov. 5 aldermen meeting. Giving Ash Grove’s annual audit report, Day conveyed that the city received an “unmodified” rating per the audit.
This year’s Socktober, the annual sock drive where students in the Republic schools gather as many pairs of socks as they can for the less fortunate during the month of October, went over very well. Republic students gathered 3,882 pairs of socks to give to those in need.
A sunshiny day and perfect weather welcomed the annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade to downtown Republic Saturday morning. Thousands of onlookers lined Main Street from Hines Street to downtown taking in the spectacle and even some candy thrown from the participants.
