A new organization in Ash Grove is raising money to create endowments that will, in turn, provide funds for organizations and projects that will help meet a variety of needs in Ash Grove.
The Willard Farmer’s Market opened May 24, in downtown Willard. The market is located at the junction of Jackson Street (Business Highway 160) and South Main, near the Frisco Highline Trailhead and city mural.
Members of the Ash Grove chapter of Girls on the Run wrapped up their 10-week program with a community impact project that benefitted Circle of Paws in Ash Grove. The 12 girls who made up the chapter managed to collect 13 bags of cat food, weighing a total of 56 pounds, over a week’s time.
Todd Wojciechowski, a member of the Republic R-III Board of Education, has achieved Master and Advanced Certification in the Missouri School Boards’ Association certified board member program.
The Republic School Board approved bids on five summer projects for various improvements to school buildings in the district. The approved bids had a combined total of almost $850,000.
The Republic City Council, in a partial but official capacity at their May 21 meeting, voted 6-0 in favor of accepting a preliminary plat for Ashford Place, a residential subdivision just north of Sweeny Elementary on Main Street. The subdivision will occupy 9.3 acres and will have 48 lots.
