Andrew Edgar Salyers

Andrew Edgar Salyers, 89, of Billings, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, in his home. He was born on Oct. 3, 1929, in Elliott County, Ky., the son of the late David Marion and Elizza (Ison) Salyers.
On June 27, 1955, Andrew was united in marriage to Lois Ann Pennington, and they were blessed with 62 years together before Lois passed away on Sept. 23, 2017. Two children were born to their union, Elizabeth Ann and Gary Edgar. After living in Ohio, Kentucky and California, they settled near Billings in 1967.
Salyers was a quiet man, loving God, his family, and his church family. He enjoyed the art of cement finishing and he and Lois worked together for several years with his own business.

Others who preceded Salyers in death were a grandson, Brenton Wade Salyers; and siblings, Isom Salyers, Edwin Salyers, Thomas Salyers, Edith Salyers and Ruth Cooper.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Elizabeth (Henry) Weeda; a son, Gary (Elizabeth) Salyers; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel Salyers and John (Mildred) Salyers; a brother-in-law, Elwood (Dolores) Pennington; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended relatives and friends.
A visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic.  The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, also in the funeral home. Burial followed the service in Salyers Family Cemetery, 841 Rose Hill Road, Billings, Missouri. Family and friends may share online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
