Ash Grove football gets by Sarcoxie, enters district play Nov. 8
The Class 1, fifth ranked Ash Grove High School football team traveled to Sarcoxie on Friday, Oct. 25, and came home with a very close 20-18 win for their final regular season game.
The Pirates are now 7-2 on the season and will not play again until Friday, Nov. 8, when they host Midway in the quarterfinals of the Class 1, District 3 tournament.
Marionville leads the district standings with 56.21 points, followed by Adrian (52.86 points), Ash Grove (45.18 points), Windsor (43.83 points), Pierce City (43.30 points), Midway (35.33 points), Lincoln (31.06 points), Cabool (26.53 points), Miller (26.07 points) and Skyline (25.68 points).
No statistics were provided for this game by the coaching staff.
Lady Pirates volleyball season ends in district tournament at hands of New Covenant Academy

The 2024 volleyball season has come to end for Ash Grove High School, as the Lady Pirates lost in three sets (23-25, 13-25 and 19-25) to New Covenant Academy in Miller at the Class 2, District 10 tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Earlier in the week, Ash Grove traveled to Greenwood and won in straight sets (25-14, 25-10 and 25-13) on Monday, Oct. 21.
“This season has been one to remember,” said head coach Diana Eiberger. “These ladies bonded over more than just the game. To our seniors: you showed us that hard work, technique, determination, perseverance, and believing in yourself and others will take you many places. We wish you all the very best in your future and know you are always a member of this family. To all returning members: Each of you have improved and pushed yourself every day throughout the season. Your hard work and enthusiasm is contagious on and off the floor. Keep working hard, remember the lessons from this season, and continue to build on the foundations set before you by your class of 2025 seniors. Also, thank you to each family member and fan of these hardworking ladies. Hearing your cheers and encouraging words on and off the floor means a great deal to each of them. Thank you for all of your support. We look forward to seeing you next season!”
