Ash Grove man, 27, killed in head-on collision on Hwy. 174

Matthew Vermillion, 27, of Ash Grove was killed Sunday night when the vehicle he was driving, a 2002 GMC Sonoma, crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming 2015 Infiniti QX6 driven by Paula Parker, 48, of Aurora. Parker’s SUV slid off the right side of the road while Vermillion’s truck overturned in the road. The crash happened two miles east of Mt. Vernon on Highway 174. Neither drivers were wearing a seat belt and, as is required by law, Parker was tested for alcohol.
