Barbara Dhondt

Barbara Dhondt, 78, Republic passed away surrounded by her loving family. Dhondt was born April 4, 1942 in Harvard, to Nova and Mary (Bradley) Earles.She was the fourth of seven children. Dhondt married Dan Dhondt on Aug. 18, 1957. They were very happily married for 63 years. To this union was born four children, Rodney, Greg, Robin and Rebecca.Dan and Barbara owned Brooklyn Locker in Brooklyn, Iowa. After leaving Iowa, Dan and Barbara opened a furniture store in Republic. After retirement they started Dan and Barb Ozark Crafters making oak shelves. Dhondt was also employed at Wal-Mart in Republic. The Dhondts spent seven years traveling in the RV and loved to stop at the casinos in Tunica, Miss. Preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Wilma Churchill, Patsy Lewis, a great-granddaughter Lura Katherina Dhondt , and four-legged baby Angel.Left to mourn is her loving husband of 63 years Dan, children: Rodney (Nancy) Dhondt, Greg (Joanie) Dhondt, Robin Dhondt, and Becky (Richard) Green; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill, Karen, Sherrie, and Brenda as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
