Betty J. Clark

Betty J. Clark, 86, of Republic, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 in Republic Nursing and Rehab. She was born on Oct. 1, 1935 in Protem, the daughter of the late Charlie Wood and Virgie (Thornton) Wood.

Clark was a Nixa High School graduate. She worked at the Assemblies of God National Headquarters in the General Secretary’s Secretariat office from 1979 until her retirement in 2000.

Clark was united in marriage to the late Kenneth Clark on May 30, 1935 and they were blessed with three sons.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother; husband; three brothers: Adrian Wood, Bill Wood and Barry Wood; one sister Analee Young; and one granddaughter Leigha Clark.

She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Richard “Rick” and Christi Clark, Kelly and Sarah Clark, and Jonathan “Jon” and Christa Clark; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren on the way; brother Bob Wood and a sister Rena Moore.

A private service for the family was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Burial will be at Jones Chastain Cemetery, south of Nixa, under the care of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Convoy of Hope (330 S. Patterson Ave., Springfield, MO 65802) in Clark’s name.
