Brian T. Tunny

Brian T. Tunny, 49, of Springfield, formerly of Greensburg, Ind., passed on Aug. 25, 2021.
Tunny was born Aug. 30, 1971, in Greensburg, Ind. to Hubert and Brenda (Reynolds) Tunny.
He was the oldest of three children in the home.
Tunny had three sons in Indiana, Cory, Dillon and Lars, before relocating to Springfield, where he met and married Amy Moenning. They were married on June 25, 2004. Amy brought a son Jordan to the marriage, who Tunny raised as his own. Amy and Brian then had two additional children, Aaron and Madilynn.
Tunny’s life was filled with many occupations from truck driving, construction, and farming to being a very talented craftsman.
Tunny was preceded in death by wife Amy who passed away in 2020, and his maternal grandparents, Edward and Marcella Reynolds and paternal grandparents, James and Geneva Tunny.
Tunny is survived by his parents, Hubert and Brenda, children: Cory Tunny, Greensburg, Ind.; Dillon (Jessica) Tunny, Columbus, Ind.; Lars Tunny, Shelbyville, IN; Aaron Tunny and Madilynn Tunny, Springfield; and Jordan Moenning and significant other Kyleigh Lester, Springfield; siblings Shannan (Doug) Cooke, Columbus, Ind., and Jeremy Tunny and partner Carlos Ibarra, Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren; mother-in-law Beverly Johnson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family and countless friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church (1331 E Hunter Robbins Way, Greensburg, Ind.). The funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Tunny will return to Missouri for a graveside service at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home.
