Business is buzzing at Bumble Bee Bloom’s new Ash Grove location

When Terry and Judi Frost, owners of Bumble Bee Blooms, decided to move their business off Highway 160 and into an historic building at the corner of Main and Calhoun in Ash Grove, they were slightly nervous. Turns out, they had nothing to worry about.
“Business has grown; it has increased,” said Judi Frost. “We were nervous about moving off of the highway, (but) Ash Grove supports their businesses incredibly. We love Ash Grove. We have a lot of people from there in town that see us, and people who are going up and down F and V highways see us more than they did down on 160.”
The Frosts moved Bumble Bee Blooms into the building on Oct. 1, 2018. Judi Frost describes the building, which was built in 1891, as “incredible.”
“The ambience in that building is fantastic,” she said. “We have people that come in just to look at (it). People come in and just say it’s comfy and homey.”
The building also has more space than their previous location, which has allowed Bumble Bee Blooms to expand their services. Frost said they have expanded their wedding services and also carry a wider variety of plants for floral arrangements.
“We are known for our unusual and wide diversity of plants,” she said.
One feature of the new location which Frost is particularly proud of is a conference room which she calls “The Beehive Room.”
“We now offer painting classes (in the Beehive Room) once a month, and we are also starting to offer a cake decorating class,” she said. “It’s a four-week class, and it starts on March 26.”
The Beehive Room can also be used to host special events.
“If people would like to rent it, (the room’s) available for small luncheons, showers, things like that,” Frost said.
As for Bumble Bee Blooms’ future, Frost said the only plan is to keep doing what they’re doing.
“We love making people happy,” she said. “We’re Christians, and the flower shop is our ministry. We want to please people, and do the very best that we can at what we’re good at. (And), we always have free coffee for people.
Bumble Bee Blooms is located at 100 E. Main Street in Ash Grove, and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
