The parking lot of Ash Grove Elementary School was a hive of activity Friday morning as the district hosted Careers on Wheels day. Ten presenters, who each work out of their vehicle, brought their wheeled offices for a stationed show-and-tell presentation for grade school students. Rigs on display included a bucket truck from MediaCom, an Ash Grove Fire Department fire truck, a New Holland self-propelled mower, a van from Wright Pest Control and several others. “I love having this event each year,” said school counselor Hilary Nicholson. “It gives students such a hands on experience with different types of careers. I want to encourage them to dream big and know they can be anything they want to be! I love how involved the Ash Grove community is. They truly care for our kids and do such an amazing job getting our students excited about careers!
