David Leon Bennett

David Leon Bennett, 62, of Independence, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021. He was born March 25, 1959, in Greenfield, to Gilbert Leon and Mary (Dill) Bennett. On March 14, 1993, David and Angela Peterson were united in marriage and shared over 29 years together.
Bennett was a hard worker throughout his life. He was a bricklayer and stonemason by trade.
Bennett is survived by his wife, Angela Bennett; his children, Amy Hughes, David (Debra) Bennett, Jesse Davila, Ronnie Bennett, Dakota Bennett; five grandchildren; siblings Dorinda (Tim) Wright, Rhonda (Bob) Berk, Kay (Mike) Sefton, Glenn (Becky) Bennett, Michael Bennett, Tresa (Jimmy) O’Neal; aunts Regina (Wayne) Stapp, Lorene (Jack, deceased) Freeze, Lenora Dill; uncle George (Cindy) Bennett; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and many friends.
Bennett is preceded in death by his parents and uncle, Dewey Dill.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Ash Grove. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at Corry Cemetery in Dade County.
