Don M. Cotter and Ellen M. Cotter

Don M. Cotter, 80, passed away Dec. 24, 2021, and Ellen M. Cotter, 71, passed away Dec. 26, 2021, both in their home near Bois D’ Arc, after long illnesses.
Don was born in Bois D’Arc, Jan. 29, 1941, to Martin and Neva (McSpadden) Cotter. Ellen was born in Hamburg, Iowa, on July 18, 1950 to Orval and Alice (Inman) Green. They were united in marriage in 1982, having celebrated 39 years together. They were both members of The Church of Restoration in Springfield. Don was retired from the Missouri Highway Department after 37 years of service. He loved farming, mowing and yard work. Ellen owned and operated her own ceramics business for many years, she loved art shows and crafts. They were both inseparable, they loved their Lord, being together and doing things together and with their family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ellen was preceded in death by her parents one brother and one baby sister, they were both preceded in death by their daughter, Wendy Marie Cotter and two sons: Michael Anthony Cotter and Leslie Joe Cotter.
They are survived by their son, Jamie Cotter and his wife, Tracy, twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Yeakley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services, noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Yeakley Chapel Cemetery.
