Suspect remains in Greene County Jail after knife attack at park, appears in court Sept. 2

An Ash Grove man was arrested on Tuesday, July 25 after he allegedly attacked two other men with a knife in Ash Grove City Park. Nathan Driskill, 30, is currently charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, a Class E felony.
According to the probable cause statement, a witness to the incident told the arresting officer that Driskill produced a knife and lunged at the other two men, then chased them. The officer also interviewed the victims, who said they confronted Driskill about “exposing his genitals to a nine-year-old girl” before he pulled out the knife and allegedly lunged at them. One of the victims said Driskill came “within inches” of stabbing them with the knife; the other said he believed Driskill was trying to stab them.
The officer reported that when he came into contact with Driskill, he ordered him to drop the knife and assume a prone position. Driskill complied with the commands and was taken into custody without force.
In a post-Miranda interview, Driskill admitted to producing the knife in response to the allegations made about him exposing himself to the girl. Driskill said he was protecting himself from the allegations and believed he could do so by chasing the men with the knife. The officer also reported that a glass pipe with marijuana residue and a small amount of marijuana were also found on Driskill.
As of press time, Driskill remained in the custody of the Greene County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond. He will next appear in court on Wednesday, Sept. 2 for a status hearing.
