FONDA RAELIENE (SWANN) MCMILLEN

Fonda Raeliene (Swann) McMillen, 81, of Walnut Grove passed away on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022.

McMillen, the daughter of Ralph and Evelyn (King) Swann, was born in Olney, Texas on July 4, 1941. She and Jerald “JL” McMillen were united in marriage on Dec. 26, 1960. They shared almost 53 years together before JL’s passing in 2013.
They were licensed foster parents with the Greene County Foster Home Program. They provided love and structure to 34 children from 1970-2000. McMillen was also a social worker for St. Johns Hospital for over 30 years. She was an active member of Springfield SDA Church since moving to the area in 1948.
McMillen is survived by her children, Trent McMillen and wife Mary, Tonya Boone and husband Gary; six grandchildren; cousin Darwin Helmer; other family and friends.   

McMillen was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Evelyn Swann; husband, JL McMillen; and sister, Darwena Kerkhoff.
Memorial graveside services will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard.
